v5.4: More than one, and made to order

If you have ever listed the same thing five times, or given up trying to sell something that comes in three colours, this one is for you. v5.4 lets a single listing hold many units and carry options you define yourself. It also caps off a long run of releases since v3 — a ground-up rebuild, a free plan with no item limit, and 0% selling.

Sell several of the same item

One listing, however many you have. Set the number in stock and it counts down as they sell, so you are not relisting the same thing over and over. Buyers choose how many they want and can see how many are left.

Postage adjusts with the order: full postage on the first item and a smaller amount for each extra one, so somebody taking three is not paying to post three parcels.

Options you define yourself

Name the choices that matter for what you are selling. Size, colour, capacity — whatever fits. There is no preset list, because we do not know what you collect.

Each combination carries its own price, its own stock and optionally its own photos. Buyers pick before they buy, and the price they see is the price for the one they chose, not the cheapest on the listing. If the popular one sells out, the rest of the listing carries on.

Options attach to a listing that already exists, so you add them from the listing's edit page once it is saved. More in Selling.

A rebuilt listing form

Creating a listing used to be a march through steps. It is now one page you can move around freely, it saves as you go, and when you cannot publish yet it tells you exactly what is missing and takes you straight to it.

Photos are more forgiving too. If an upload fails the photo stays put and tries again on its own once you are back online, rather than quietly disappearing.

Since v3, in short

Quite a lot has happened between v3 and here:

• v4 brought a redesigned marketplace and a bigger community, then a top-to-bottom quality pass over every screen.
• v5.0 was a ground-up rebuild — cleaner, faster, properly designed for light and dark on phone, tablet and desktop. It also opened the app up: you can browse the marketplace, library and community without an account.
• v5.2 changed what you get for free. The free plan is now unlimited — your whole collection, ten photos on every item, export whenever you like, and full access to social. Selling is 0% while we get going. Alongside it came the Wanted board, seller shops, saved listings, public questions on a listing, videos and manuals, local pickup and clear returns before you buy.
• v5.3 was about accuracy: prices always shown in the currency they were set in, collection value counting only what you own, maximum bids working properly from the app, and offline messages arriving exactly once.

A note on plans

Selling is 0% on every plan, including the free Hobbyist plan, under a launch fee holiday. There is no item limit and no cap on how many listings you can have open. Paid plans buy capability — aggregate analytics, unlimited photos per item, bulk operations and the Data API — not a cheaper selling rate.
